let the candy melt in your mouth
glory in the taste so worthy
watch the buds in flight
don't worry about fat tonight
or what is wrong or right
ignore the eyes that follow you
who think you're an exhibition
see the whites of little wrappers
not depth or intuition
cross the street to the candy store
be sure of your decision
wild nights now forever gone
too much sucking, overdrawn
return to melt the face at dawn
laugh at spandex men recycling
formless globs of peppermint
like folk on noisy scooters
keeping their eyes on licorice roads
hard, rough, and crunchy
let the candy melt in your mouth
without biting
